Association of Genetic Polymorphism of Insulin Receptor Substrate 1 (IRS-1) with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Pathogenicity in Iraqi Women

Background: Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) is an intracellular signaling adapter protein that integratesand coordinates multiple biologically key extracellular signals within the cell, also a central receptorin insulin signaling, and plays focal role in maintaining essential cellular capabilities, e.g., survival,development digestion system. IRS1 essentially found cytoplasm But localization nucleusmay occur some cell types under certain stimuli.Materials Method: A total of 104 healthy control 215 Iraqi women have Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) aged 20–40 years who was admitted to conducted prospective clinical study at kerbala gynecologyteaching hospital, it measured genotype distribution rs2943641 T C substitution IRS1and effects genotypes on Ovary syndrome Pathogenicity Iraqiwomen,Results: Analyses were assess association between SNP [TT (Wild type),TC (heterozygous type), CC (mutated type)], with pathogenesis PCOS according logisticregression results. This survey demonstrated there no significant differentalleles for this PCOSConclusion: Genetic polymorphism IRS-1may be associated metabolic disturbance but notPolycystic Iraqiwomen.
